About the Conference

March 23rd – 25th, 2018 Phoenix Arizona

We are pleased to announce a general conference in Phoenix, AZ  for the purpose of increasing our understanding of Wisdom and to celebrate the Doctrine of  Jesus Christ in word and in deed.

This conference is open to all who wish to meet together for rejoicing and worshiping together in the doctrine of Christ in order that our hearts and minds may be open to receive Wisdom. We will gather in Gilbert AZ for two large group meetings at Mesquite High School Auditorium, as well as the beautiful shores of the Salt River on Saturday afternoon.

Please note that this website offers information about the conference according to the best information we have available. Details are subject to change. Please check the site often for updates or changes as we get closer to the conference.

Saguaro National Park, Arizona, USA

There will be time scheduled to praise God, hear addresses from several speakers, enjoy a family picnic on the beautiful banks of the Salt River and a parting social pot-luck meal together. More details about the meals and additional activities will be released as they are available.

The activities will all be located in the East Valley of the greater Phoenix area. If you are looking for a centralized location for your stay for the weekend, either Mesa or Gilbert along the US Route 60 Freeway offers a nice, central location for the area.

About the Weekend: Because we recognize many people will travel from all over to gather for the conference, we’ve included several optional, social activities for attendees to fellowship, socialize, and get to know other like-minded people. The actual conference meetings will be held Saturday at 11:00 am and 4 pm,  and Sunday at 9:00 am. They will include music, speakers, and sacrament. Please feel free to attend as many, or as few of the activities as you choose. The purpose of this conference is twofold, to hear the word of the Lord, and also to provide an opportunity to fellowship with each other. Please attend the activities that will be most valuable to you.

The hike gains about 840 feet in the 1.5 miles to the top. There is no hand-over-hand climbing on the path, but some spots are strewn with boulders large enough to require big steps. There are plenty of spots on the way up to pause for a breather. On a clear day, you can see 70 miles. To the southwest, you might make out Sonoran Desert National Monument. Looking west, it’s downtown Phoenix. To the north, ripples of far-off and wild mountains fade into sky.

Phon D. Sutton Salt River Recreation site:

And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever.

Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
And now when the people had heard these words, they clapped their hands for joy, and exclaimed: This is the desire of our hearts. And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon,… how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever. (Mosiah 18)
